You’ve found author, ghostwriter and narrator, Hilarey Johnson. Here, you’ll also find redemptive fiction and occasionally provocative non-fiction. But you’ll always be encouraged to press deeper into your faith.
This is not for the reader who’s looking for faith-spiced quotes, or tweet-able definitions of existence. It’s for the one who feels reluctant to go to church, but still attempts to nurture a faith community. It’s for the one who has finished passively accepting what they’ve heard preached—but instead of giving up—reads the Bible to see what God has to say about himself.
Because that’s what I’m doing, and this tiny corner of the interweb Intimacy with God for the Over-Churched is me sharing the process with my friends.

Bio
Hilarey Johnson grew up hearing that she would be an excellent student if she could get her head out of the clouds. Her daydreaming still makes it possible to get lost driving anywhere. She loves characters with a hidden or unknown worth who rise to claim their identity. As a storyteller, Hilarey seeks authenticity even at the risk of absurdity, pain, or irreverence. She lives in Idaho with her husband, but someday Hilarey hopes to time travel.
Hilarey is the author of the Breaking Bonds, and Dance of the Crane fiction series. She has written for Guideposts, Brio Magazine, Christian Living Magazine, the Idaho Network of Child Advocacy Centers, the Times-News in Twin Falls, the North Lake Tahoe Bonanza and others.

“Hilarey Johnson doesn’t settle for easy stereotypes. Sovereign Ground is a tale of clashing cultures and competing fears. In the middle of the action are the voices of those lost in human trafficking. This tale and those voices should not be ignored.”
